Local fishing is really good right now!

On the day before Father’s Day, I had a very small window of opportunity to sneak out and do a little local fishing before my son’s All Star baseball game at noon, so I invited my dad, and Ron Withers. We were in the water by 4:00AM. As we were right outside of our first spot, I looked at Ron and said, “One of these days we are going to uncork a couple good ones in there.” We pulled in nice and tight, and the bites started! One here, a good one there, and suddenly we knew it was going to be a REALLY good day! We went on to have about 2 hours of excellent Calico Bass fishing. They were all legal sized fish with a lot in the 2-4 pound range, and a couple in the 5-6 pound range! Growing up, my dad always took me fishing, and rigged me up. Now that he is 75, it’s my turn. I’m happy to say he probably caught more fish than I did, and we all left with that awesome smile that comes from catching – not just fishing! Thank you Lord for a great day of catching!
