Saturday, April 13th dawned to reveal overcast skies, and breezes out of the southeast. 5 FIB’er teams descended on San Diego Bay for our first bass tournament of the year. Fishing for Spotties in the sub 14″ class was really good, but catching those “Keepers” above the 14″ mark proved a lot more challenging. Team “Half-Stache” (Andrew Gomez, Ron Withers, and Manny M.)took top honors with a 3-fish limit of 5.34#’s.

After the weigh in, we enjoyed an awesome potluck lunch in the parking lot. Val Handzus brought some delicious bacon-wrapped hotdogs, and everyone else brought sides. It was just as fun trading stories about the day’s adventure as it was living it.

We hope to see more FIB’ers join us at our next event in Long Beach on June 29th.
